The Navier laboratory is structured in four research teams , three technical teams and an administrative team. Its management is carried out through 3 instances:
- the Directorate made up of the director, the deputy director and the general secretary,
- the Steering Committee (Codir), consisting of the Directorate and the heads of the research team,
- the Laboratory Council (CdL), consisting of Codir and 10 elected staff.
The laboratory staff (about 170 people) is spread over four buildings near the Cité Descartes (Marne-la-Vallée): a building rented by IFSTTAR Kepler alley (Kepler site), Carnot buildings and Coriolis of the ENPC located avenue Blaise Pascal (Pascal site), and finally, the Bienvenüe building of the IFSTTAR located just in front of the Carnot building. The Kepler site is being moved to the Bienvenüe building in the second half of 2019. The laboratory also has an MRI machine located in the buildings of Paris-Est Marne-la-Vallée University (UPEM). Closely associating the production of knowledge and the training in applied mechanics in various fields, the Navier Laboratory is involved in many national and international collaborations with public and private institutions. He is a member of the Federation of French Mechanics (CNRS FR2609 research federation) and carries with its partners at the University Paris-Est (UPE) the Laboratory of Excellence (Labex) "Modeling and Experimentation Multi-Scale Materials for the Sustainable Construction "(MMCD).
