The IMMOC project, supported by the French National Research Agency, aims at bringing new knowledge in the understanding of the interaction between molten metals/oxides and concretes for applications to nuclear power plants safety. Under these conditions, concretes are subjected to intense degradation. The project includes an experimental part aiming at characterizing the damage kinetics of the microstructure, using X-ray microtomography and nanoindentation. The proposed internship will focus on the development of a method to combine and to relate measurements performed both techniques on a single sample of cementitious material.

A PhD thesis is planned in the following of this internship and can start in fall 2024.
