Internship: Study of masonry arches models

Internship: Study of masonry arches models

INTERNSHIP – 3 to 4 months

Stone bridges represent a very significant proportion of existing structures. To ensure the safety of users, it is becoming increasingly necessary to know how to model them. But this task is complicated by the highly heterogeneous nature of masonry, and its interaction with soil and fill. Model tests planned as part of a PhD thesis will enable us to explore the behavior of these bridges in order to improve their modeling in the framework of yield design (limit analysis). The aim of this internship will be to participate in the various stages of the test campaign: set-up, instrumentation, loading, data processing and interpretation.
