My PhD research focuses on the exploration of new structures for shallow foundations as part of an effort to reduce environmental impacts.
I aim to design foundations that primarily work through membrane stress in order to reduce the amounts of concrete and reinforcement required for construction.
In parallel, I work on the development of adapted construction processes, with the goal of manufacturing demonstrator prototypes.
At various stages of this work, I use life cycle assessment calculations as a decision-support tool to guide design choices.
