M1/M2 Internship Opportunity in Acoiustic Enclosure Design

M1/M2 Internship Opportunity in Acoiustic Enclosure Design

Echo Silence, in partnership with the Navier Laboratory at École des Ponts ParisTech, is offering a unique internship opportunity aimed at advancing noise control technologies through the development of innovative acoustic enclosures

Internship Details :

  • Host Laboratory : Laboratory Navier– UMR 8205
  • Internship Location : École des ponts ParisTech (ENPC)– Cité Descartes, 8 Av. Blaise Pascal, 77420 Champs-sur-Marne
  • Duration : 6 months, starting August 2024
  • Application Deadline : July 15, 2024
  • Supervisors/Contacts : Denis DUHAMEL (denis.duhamel@enpc.fr), Hasan Hassoun (hasan.hassoun@echosilence.info)

Host Laboratory and Working Environment:

Laboratory Navier at ENPC is a leading research institution, with nearly 170 experts pioneering in mechanics, materials, with applications across geotechnics, civil engineering, transportation, and energy. The laboratory is committed to addressing societal challenges including sustainable construction and environmental sustainability. Echo Silence, a leader in acoustic technology, collaborates with Laboratory Navier to blend advanced research with real-world applications. Interns will experience groundbreaking research at Navier Laboratory and engage with the entrepreneurial culture at Echo Silence’s Station F headquarters during scheduled visits. This opportunity offers firsthand exposure to the innovations shaping technology at the world’s largest startup campus.

Project Overview :

Acoustic enclosures are commonly used to reduce machinery noise but are less effective at low frequencies. Manufacturers currently use bulky and heavy enclosures to address this limitation, although it is not optimal. This paid internship focuses on designing and fabricating partial acoustic enclosures with advanced acoustic resonators to improve low-frequency sound attenuation, thereby reducing the size and material use of traditional enclosures.

Responsibilities :

Interns will be tasked with developing analytical models to analyze the interactions of acoustic resonators within acoustic enclosures, designing and manufacturing prototypes, and conducting experimental validations. These activities are designed to improve the effectiveness of acoustic enclosures across a wide frequency range, ensuring that all prototypes adhere to specified standards.

Candidate Profile :

We seek proactive candidates with a background in acoustics, signal processing, and mechanics. Candidates should be proficient in prototype building, laboratory testing, and fluent in English and French. Educational level: Bac+4/Bac+5.

How to Apply :

Interested candidates should submit their CV and a cover letter outlining their qualifications and interest in the project to contact@echosilence.info by the specified deadline.
